Lana Crosson


About

Lana Crosson is a senior at Boston University College of Fine Arts studying violin performance. Lana is quickly developing as an accomplished artist as she is finishing her undergraduate degree. Most recently, she was awarded the Boston University Pamela Avedisian Fellowship. Boston University also recently awarded Lana the Symphony Orchestra Award, as well as the String Department Award. She was also recently a finalist in the Boston University Carnegie Hall Competition. In her first year at the university, she won the 2022 Bach Competition Undergraduate Prize, and went on to win in 2023 as well. Lana also won the 2023 Charleston International World Music Competition. Lana has played in masterclasses with Sirena Huang, Grigory Kalinovsky, Timothy Chooi, and Markus Placci. In the summer, she has most recently attended the Aspen Music Festival and School in 2025, and the Atlantic Music Festival in 2024. In January 2026 and September 2025, Lana was invited to play as a substitute musician with the New World Symphony. She was also recently involved in the Boston University Jessie Montgomery Showcase concert, where her two chamber groups worked with Montgomery in preparation of her music. Lana currently studies under the tutelage of Dr. Minju Kim. Her past mentors include Dana Mazurkevich, Maria Benotti, Daniel Stepner, and Larry Young.
